WEEKEND NOTES

{Photograph by Sally J Shim}
It is hard to believe that in six weeks we will be enjoying this view from our home in Busan. Although I'm going to miss the beautiful trees here in Portland I am looking forward to looking at the big blue ocean every day.
A few other beautiful things that caught my eye this week:
1. SCARFSHOP'S color of the month, Black Plum.
2. Amanda Jane Jones' brilliant Party In A Box.
3. Stephmodo's simple + lovely terrarium.

Thanks for including me in your little roundup! That image is so beautiful...but Sally I can't imagine the Pacific NW without you!
What a beautiful view. I can't wait to follow your adventures in Korea!
Hi Sally, this is jane (sammy's wife from ncbc days -not sure if u remember). I follow your blog when I can and absolutely love all your posts! I wish I had an ounce of your creativity! I can't believe you guys are moving back to busan but happy to hear that's what you've been wanting. It's been yrs since I last went and miss korea. Anyway, I finally got a sewing machine after years of wanting one but not having space or time (now w/ a 3 yo and a newborn). Wondering if you can share some of your fav easy beginner tutorials (do you have a good one for drawstring bags?) I hope to start some projects soon! Thanks so much and wishing you and your family a smooth move!
STEPHANIE // Love your terrarium, Steph!! I need to visit Seattle before we move!!
KAREN // I can't wait to share!
JANE // Hi Jane! Of course I remember you. Congrats on your new baby! And hooray regarding the sewing machine. I started sewing after a long break when I was pregnant with J. You're going to have so much fun. Purl Bee has a nice drawstring bag tutorial. http://www.purlbee.com/easy-drawstring-bag/ (If you don't want a gusset at the bottom you can omit the last step)
