This is the advent calendar I made last year. We would have used it again this year but since we will be in three different places (Portland home, hotel, Busan home) this month I opted to make a more portable advent calendar (which I'll share as soon as I get a chance to take photographs of it). If you've been meaning to make an advent calendar and haven't gotten around to it this one is easy to make.

1. 24 kraft boxes (I found these at our local paper supply store.)

2. White sticker paper

3. White cardstock

4. Push pins

5. Pin board (I made this linen covered pinboard but you can always buy one.)

1. Print out number labels on to white sticker paper. You can also use number stickers found at your local office supply store (look in the area where they have "for sale" signs).

2. Peel off backing and place number labels on to the kraft box lids.

3. Arrange numbered kraft boxes on a pinboard. Secure with two push pins.

4. Print advent calendar activities on to cardstock, cut and place inside kraft boxes along with a treat or small goody.

5. Enjoy the 24 days leading up to Christmas!!

love this idea! i can't wait to see the portable one. i've been thinking of making one for a dear 5 year old. what are some of the activities that you put in the boxes?

Oh. I want to create my own advent calendar too. The boxes can not only contain reminders but also souvenirs that represent the activities you did for that day, very creative indeed.
