It has become an Easter tradition at Casa Shim for the boys to receive little kits in lieu of traditional Easter baskets. In the past I've put together craft supply toolboxes and secret agent/spy kits. This year I decided little man toolboxes would be perfect since they both love to build things with their hands. I originally wanted to buy metal toolboxes but quickly realized they were too heavy once they were filled up. So I settled for plastic toolboxes from the Home Depot. I filled up the toolbox with nails, screws, measuring tape, wood glue, wire, hammer, screwdriver, level, pliers, tool belt and pieces of wood. I removed the original label on the top of the toolbox and made one using our trusty Dymo label makers. I also added a little personalized "HAPPY EASTER" tag. The boys loved their little man toolboxes and immediately set to work building an airplane and a rocket launcher contraption. Can you guess what is on my "to buy" list? Yes, more wood!

These are such an awesome idea! I'll have to steal it for when my little boys are older... :)

What kind of Dymo Label Maker did you use? The link you have, shows upper case letters, but I love how you used lower case!

SAP // I bought that particular Dymo label maker in Korea so I'm not sure if they sell it here in the States. I think they sell something similar though.

i would love to see 'little builder' kits like this given to the girls out there too! i took a birdhouse building class when i was 8 and promptly insisted on my own toolbox. ;)

k8 // I agree! If I had a little girl I would definitely give her a kit full of tools + goodies! I'm planning to make birdhouses with the boys this summer! ;)
