[EAT] COMPOTE

{Photographs by Sally J Shim}
Compote Cafe & Bakery is a beautiful space in SE Portland serving local, organic and seasonal made-from-scratch food for breakfast and lunch. I went last week for brunch with my girlfriend and her daughter. When I arrived I was greeted by Shana (the owner) and since it was pretty quiet I was able to take a lot of photographs. I love the clean modern and vintage interior, it really is a beautiful well-lit space. A few of my favorite details in the restaurant is the glass water dispenser, little herb garden and the sign in the kids area (Children left unattended will be given an espresso and a puppy). I ordered the Poached Egg Stacks (poached egg + sauteed greens + shredded hash browns) and it was delicious. My friend had the Biscuits and Cream and Compote (Apricot) and her daughter had a yummy heart shaped scone. I love that Compote is kid-friendly and opens up to a large back patio area. I'm looking forward to returning soon.

JACKIE // If you are ever in the area you must go!!
There are many cosy places to eat at where you live! Singapore's just starting to see a bunch of indie restaurants/cafes open up. :)
