[MAKE] TIC TAC TOE VALENTINES

PHOTOGRAPHS BY SALLY J SHIM
This year I got a head start on the boys' Valentine's Day cards. (Thanks to my bum knee and doctor's orders to take it easy.) For j's classmates we decided to recreate one of our favorite valentines, the Tic Tac Toe Valentine. Over the years I've received many requests to make this valentine available as a printable and last week I finally got around to redesigning it.

TIC TAC TOE VALENTINE
MATERIALS
1. 5.5"x8.5" piece of white cardstock
2. 5 5/8"x8 1/4" clear self sealing envelope
3. 2 1/2"x 2 1/2" clear self sealing envelope
4. 2- 8.5"x11" sheets of white sticker paper
5. X-Acto knife
6. Ruler
7. Cutting mat
8. Small candies in two different colors

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Download the Tic Tac Toe Valentine here, the Tic Tac Toe Valentine labels here, and the X's & O's labels here.
2. Print Tic Tac Toe Valentine on to 5.5"x8.5" white cardstock.*
3. Print Tic Tac Toe Valentine labels and X's & O's labels on to white sticker paper.
4. Cut out Tic Tac Toe Valentine labels and X's & O's labels using a X-Acto knife, ruler, and cutting mat.
5. Write in name of recipient on Tic Tac Toe Valentine label and place the label in center of large clear envelope.

6. Place X's & O's label in center of small envelope. Fill envelope with two different color candies and seal envelope.
7. Place Tic Tac Toe Valentine and X's & O's envelope inside large clear envelope and seal envelope.
* Please note if your printer does not have a borderless printing option, then set your document size to 5.5"x9", but use a 5.5"x8.5" piece of cardstock.
Note: I trimmed 1/4" off each side of the Tic Tac Toe Valentine and adhered it to a 5.5"x8.5" piece of red cardstock. I also rounded the corners using a paper corner rounder.

So cute Sally! Love these..
Oh, I so want to do this for my first grader. I'm not experienced with these kinds of projects. I'm afraid the printing will eat up all of the expensive ink in my printer>
BROOKE // Thank you!! Huge compliment coming from you! :)
ALI // You can always download the pdf on to a USB drive and take it to Kinko's and have them print them for you. :)
Love these, but can't get the downloads to work - get this message:

Such a cute idea! Like one of the previous commenters mentioned, the links to the 3 PDFs are not working. Can't wait to get started on this project! Thanks for sharing!
Keep getting the error message as well.
SARA & SC & LESLIE // Hi! Sorry, the links should be working now! :)
What fonts did you use on this? It's SO adorable!! Thank you for sharing your talents!
Hello Sally, these adorable TIC TAC TOE cards worked out great! I ended up using X & O shaped cereals instead. I had to resize the card and labels since I had difficult time finding right size clear envelopes. I have shared resized templates on my website and put design courtesy of SallyJShim. I hope that's OK. Thanks for great ideas!
SKYCreatives // The X&O cereal is such a great (and healthy) alternative. I've sent you an email regarding offering my templates on your website.
LEMONDEDIS // Merci!
