THE TWELVE DAYS OF HOLIDAY PACKAGES NO.7

Package No.7 of The Twelve Days of Holiday Packages was inspired by my love of small details and texture. My craft and packaging supply stash is full of neutral and basic supplies, like kraft boxes and twill tape. You can add a bit of detail to the box or twill tape to make it a special package.

For Package No.7 I used a sewing machine and red cotton thread to add a zig-zag design to the twill tape. It only takes a few minutes to complete this project. If you want to plan ahead, create yards of stitched twill tape and use it for future packaging projects.

MATERIALS

1. Kraft pillow box

2. White cotton twill tape

3. Cotton thread (Gutermann is my favorite brand)

4. Sewing machine (or needle)

5. Scissors

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Wrap twill tape around box to determine length needed to wrap the box.

2. Thread sewing machine or needle and create a stitch pattern on the twill tape.

3. Wrap stitched twill tape around box. Tie in a double knot. Cut ends of twill tape at an angle.

TIPS

1. Use multiple thread colors to create a pattern on the twill tape.

2. Replace twill tape with any solid color ribbon.

3. Use embroidery thread and needle to create a thicker pattern on the twill tape.
