IN MY TOOLBOX / DYMO LABEL MAKER

I love office supplies and I really miss perusing the aisles of our local office supply stores back in the States. So many of my essential craft supplies are actually office supplies, like my beloved Dymo label makers. Did you know Dymo introduced their personal and office label makers back in 1958? In the 1990s the company invented electronic label makers and the rest is history.

I had a electronic label maker for years and used it religiously to label all sorts of things in my studio. But before our move to Korea almost two years ago I make a drastic purge of my studio and our home. I realized I hadn't used the electronic label maker in years and decided to give it to my friend who is a teacher. But I did pack our two trusty Dymo label makers since the boys and I love to use them. Once we moved to Korea I added a third Dymo label maker to our collection (the font is slightly different, which of course was my justification for the purchase).

You can use Dymo label makers for all sorts of purposes-- labeling boxes, water bottles (they withstand many washings), food tins, and making custom gift tags and gift wrap (I'll be sharing a simple packaging project later today). I love the texture of embossed labels and the variety of label tape colors (primary, neon, metallic, and my favorite clear). They even have Dymo label makers in Korean alphabet characters which I definitely need to add one to my stash.

Yes! I love my old-school Dymo label maker! I picked it up at a thrift store, and I often stick a little label over the flap of an envelope with some washi tape -- usually simple phrases like "THANKS" or "PARTY!" I also have an electronic label maker, but I haven't used it artistically yet.

One of my personal faves! I have a box of vintage silver Dymo tape that was my grandmother's, unfortunately the more modern label makers don't seem to fit it. I'll have to keep scouring estate sales for the proper fit! :)

Can you do a post on things you use your demo label maker for? I'm curious...

You have better pictures of our embossers than we do ourselves! The whole blog is a delight, goes straight into my favourites. Many thanks for the art.
