Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because it is all about family and food, some of my favorite things in life. And although we are celebrating Thanksgiving here in Busan, where it is a regular day for most of the country, it still feels like a special day. I love that Thanksgiving is about gratitude and reflecting on the many things we are thankful for in our lives.
As we raise our boys Appah and I want them to have hearts of gratitude. Three years ago we made a "Thanksgiving tree" and even though I no longer have the tree, I still have the "leaves". It is fun to look back on the things they were grateful for when they were 5 and 7 years old.
This year I thought it would be nice to jot down things we are thankful for so I designed some mini cards which you can slip inside a mini envelope and give it to a family member or friend. You can also clip them together or place them in an album to remember the things you were grateful for in 2013.
Most of all I think jotting down what we are thankful for is a wonderful exercise in experiencing gratitude. I hope you and your loved ones have a gratitude-filled Thanksgiving (and may it also involve lots of turkey and pie)!
