[ART] JENNIFER VALLEZ

PHOTOGRAPHS BY JENNIFER VALLEZ

Jennifer Vallez's latest watercolor illustrations have been popping up on my Instagram feed and I could not be more in love! Not only is she a wonderfully talented artist (and clothing designer, illustrator and doll maker) but her style is amazing. If only her sketches would turn into a clothing line (hint, hint), I would be so happy! Jen hasn't added her watercolor illustrations to her shop yet, but stay tuned!!

[ART] RESTYLE / Jan Skácelík

PHOTOGRAPHS BY JAN SKACELIK

One of my goals for this summer is to get started on decorating the boys' bedroom. I've made a list of things I need to buy (bunkbed, rug) and make (bedding, throw pillows, window treatments). I love hanging up the boys' original artwork on their bedroom walls but when I saw these awesome Star Wars prints by Jan Skácelík of ReStyle I thought they would be perfect for their bedroom. I love the modern colors and graphics. Check out Jan's shop for more pretty prints. And if you love minimal + clean interiors you will love Jan's blog, Design Attractor.

[ART] SOPHIE & LILI ORIGINAL ILLUSTRATIONS

PHOTOGRAPH BY SALLY J SHIM

I've written about my love of Sophie & Lili dolls in the past and I am so excited to see my friend Jennifer Vallez, the creative whiz behind Sophie & Lili, expand her line to include DIY Cut & Sew & Color dolls, printable birthday invitations and hair accessories. I also adore the new original illustrations she is now offering in her shop (which I admit makes me miss her old clothing line for girls). Jen sent me the sweetest illustrations of me (in my stripey dress) and the boys (based on this photograph). The boys and I got a kick out of seeing drawings of us and we cannot wait to frame the illustrations. Thank you again Jen for the sweet surprise!

[DESIGN] TATTLY

You've probably already heard of TATTLY, designy temporary tattoos for kids (and adults) of all ages. TATTLY is the brainchild of SWISSMISS and we recently received a sweet package of tattoo goodness thanks to my friend Bekka. The boys were so excited to see all the cool designs and had so much fun picking out their first TATTLYs.

J picked out Clouds and Freckles (the bunny).

And j picked out Freckles and You're Late.

It is funny how the boys both picked out Freckles without knowing the other one chose it. Bunny Brothers Unite!

PHOTOGRAPHS BY SALLY J SHIM

I have to say the quality of TATTLYs is far superior to any other tattoos we have used in the past. The colors are quite vivid and if you're careful when washing up the tattoos can last 3-4 days. And if you browse the TATTLY site you will see they have a wonderful selection of designs (and they keep adding to the mix on a regular basis). You don't see many kids in Korea with tattoos so the boys have received many inquiries from classmates, teachers and random people. We've been burning through our package of TATTLYs and will have to restock soon especially since it is short sleeve t-shirt weather, ideal for showing off tattoos. And if you love the designs but are not a tattoo person you have to check out the TATTLY blog for ideas on how to use their tattoos on glass bottles, notebooks, etc.

[DESIGN] TOKKETOK

TOKKETOK     PHOTOGRAPHS BY LISA WARNINGER     STYLING BY CHELSEA FUSS

My dear friend Joke, the amazing designer behind Tokketok and my partner in SHIMTOKK, has a lovely new site full of amazing paper goods and beautiful identity collateral. I love Joke's minimal and clean aethestic and I am in love with everything on her new website. I cannot even pick a favorite but I do love the bright and cheery HAPPY NOTE cards and gold and glossy perforated celebration cards. I often get asked for referrals for branding services and Joke's name is always at the top of my list. You can see some of the beautiful logos she has created in her new portfolio. And if you are a business owner looking to freshen up your image Joke is a genius at creative branding and packaging.

[DESIGN] SHANNA MURRAY & PIGEON TOE CERAMICS HOLIDAY 2011

PHOTOGRAPH BY SALLY J SHIM

I adore the beautiful holiday ornaments designed by my friend Shanna Murray and Pigeon Toe Ceramics. I bought one of their collaborative cups last year at Little Winter for a dear friend and this year I picked up a few ornaments. I gave the Noel ornament to the same dear friend and initially was going to gift the Two Thousand Eleven ornament but decided at the last minute to keep it since 2011 has been a big year for our family. I hope 2011 is wrapping up to be a great year for you all.

A few lovely links:

1. A big thanks to Joslyn of Tiny Dallas for featuring my blog on her Blog Crush series.

2. And another big thanks to Erin Loechner for featuring our Advent Calendar 2011 on the Flor blog.

3. My friend Sarah of Truly Smitten sent the prettiest holiday card. I'm in love with the simple design and gold foil detail.
