We are officially half way through our summer vacation. The boys have four more weeks until school resumes and we are all hoping the time goes by slowly. Last week we had some stormy weather which made the ocean an amazing deep shade of blue. Now the weather is getting toasty but we've found early evenings to be the perfect time to hit the beach with our boogie boards. We are also trying to do more exploring around Busan so we recently stopped by GoEun Museum of Photography which is featuring an exhibit on modern landscapes by Dong-Jun Bae. Whether inside or outside it is nice to be able to enjoy the beauty around us.

A few bits of beauty:

1. Meant To Be Calligraphy's lovely new website. Joke and I had the privilege of working with Michele on a few different projects and not only is she an extremely talented calligrapher but a super sweet person!

2. I love the new simple + pretty website. Jane is the ultimate curator and finder of all things simple + pretty. I love visiting her site to find out about the prettiest goodies from paper goods to high fashion.

3. Looking at my friend Bonnie Tsang's latest Road Trip photographs from her travels through California and Oregon make me miss a) living on the West Coast, b) going on road trips, c) eating with Bonnie & her sweet daughter Venise.

One of my favorite things about our new home in Busan is the amazing view. Our place overlooks the East Sea and we are fortunate to be able to enjoy the sun rising and setting every day. Instagram friends know that I've started a habit of photographing sunrises and sunsets almost every day. It amazes me how each sunrise and sunset looks different and how quickly the sun moves as it rises and descends each morning and evening. I always like to look down at the beach and see at least a handful of people enjoying the sunrise or sunset on a given day. It is just a small way for us to slow down and enjoy the natural beauty around us.

A few lovely links:

1. I am a huge fan of Erin Jang's design work and her latest FOOD SKETCH project is so fantastic. She promises to include non-Korean food but I'm secretly (or I suppose not so secretly) hoping she does at least a dozen Korean food sketches and turns it in to a 2013 calendar!

2. I'm in love with SCARFSHOP's January color-on-the-month, Azalea. I love all my SCARFSHOP scarves (Appah even has one) and wear one almost every day.

3. Although I love living in Busan I have to admit I'm not that inspired fashion-wise here so thank goodness for fashion blogs like Citizen Couture. I found this site via Suann of SIMPLESONG (who has a knack for finding the prettiest things on the web) and am so inspired by it.

I adore the beautiful holiday ornaments designed by my friend Shanna Murray and Pigeon Toe Ceramics. I bought one of their collaborative cups last year at Little Winter for a dear friend and this year I picked up a few ornaments. I gave the Noel ornament to the same dear friend and initially was going to gift the Two Thousand Eleven ornament but decided at the last minute to keep it since 2011 has been a big year for our family. I hope 2011 is wrapping up to be a great year for you all.

A few lovely links:

1. A big thanks to Joslyn of Tiny Dallas for featuring my blog on her Blog Crush series.

2. And another big thanks to Erin Loechner for featuring our Advent Calendar 2011 on the Flor blog.

3. My friend Sarah of Truly Smitten sent the prettiest holiday card. I'm in love with the simple design and gold foil detail.

I don't know about you but I'm not quite ready to say hello to December. I am hoping the next sixteen days go by very slowly although I have a feeling that is not going to happen. I'm in the last stage of purging my studio of fabric, paper and packaging supplies so keep a look out for more goodies (like yards of my favorite black & white gingham that I bought in Korea) being added to my TAG SALE on Monday. (I'll tweet when I add new things to the TAG SALE.)

I hope you all have a wonderful and restful weekend.

A few lovely links:

1. Hellobee is a sweet new pregnancy, baby and parenting blog run by the lovely Bee Kim (formerly of Weddingbee). She has enlisted some top notch designers such as Minhee Cho and Lauren O'Neill to make the blog not only an informative but beautiful place to visit.

2. Loved seeing The Sartorialist in Tokyo. Tokyo is one of my favorite cities in the world and we're hoping to return this spring with the boys. Appah and I could spend hours people watching and I agree with Scott Schuman that Tokyo is a "mens city". Although the women are stylish the men have this amazing sense of style I've never seen any where else.

3. My friend Irene is hosting the Epic Thanks 2011 Benefit At Sale. You can learn more about the Epic Thanks 2011 campaign right here. I love the spirit behind this movement.

{Whimsy & Spice}

Who doesn't love giving and receiving yummy goodies? Whimsy & Spice is a Brooklyn based baking company founded by Mark Sopchak and Jenna Park. W&S creates amazing baked goods in the most wonderful combinations like Brown Sugar Gingerspice shortbread cookies, Massaman Peanut Butter cookies and Rose & Black Pepper Thumbprints. I am a huge fan of their pillowy soft Caramel marshmallows, the perfect touch to a piping hot cup of hot chocolate. And not only do they offer wonderful sweet treats but they also have a beautiful line of home accessories and prints that any foodie would love.

I love supporting friends who are living their dreams through a creative lifestyle. Here are a few holiday sales going on by some of my favorite creatives.

1. Whimsy & Spice // 15% sale in their print shop today through Sunday 11/27/11 12am EST.

2. Scarf Shop // 15% sale through Saturday 11/26/11 // Code: GIVE

3. Wiksten // 15% sale through Sunday 11/27/11 // Code: THANKSGIVING

A few weeks ago I surprised the boys with a trip to the zoo after school. Soccer season had come to an end and we finally had a free week day. The sun was shining and the air was crisp, a perfect fall day in my book. Now it appears the fall to winter weather has kicked in and it is chilly and wet outside, making it ideal weather for hibernating at home. And since we have four more weeks until our move to Korea there are plenty of things to take care of around the house.

A few weekend notes:

1. I received a hand written letter from my friend Sarah of Truly Smitten. I'm not sure when the last time I received (or wrote) a letter (not a quick card). It is a wonderful reminder that taking the time to write a thoughtful letter to a friend is a beautiful gift.

2. I love the Bon Journey bags from The New Domestic (via Poppytalk).

3. These beautiful (and mouth watering) images by the talented Karen Mordechai for the Desserts from the Famous Loveless Cafe cookbook are amazing. Since I am a big fan of Southern food and desserts (pies, cakes, cobblers) these perfectly styled photographs are right up my alley.
