[EAT] PINE STATE BISCUITS

{Photographs by Sally J Shim}

Pine State Biscuits is another favorite spot to hit in Portland. This was my first time going to the Alberta Street location and I love how there is so much seating compared to the original Belmont restaurant. The boys and Miss V ate at the counter while Bonnie and I were able to enjoy our biscuits and hash browns at a nearby table. If you love biscuits you will definitely love Pine State Biscuits! Check out their biscuit making video here.

{Photographs by Bonnie Tsang}

Just a few behind the scenes snapshots of our PACKAGING 101 workshop taken by our dear friend Bonnie. I will be sharing more photographs and a recap of the workshop next week. Joke and I get to relive the fun next weekend for our 2nd PACKAGING 101 workshop at Modern Domestic

[READ] FRIENTOR BOOKS BY GUMBOOK

{Gumbook}

I'm also loving these Frientor [Friend + Mentor] books by Gumbook. They have Friendtor books for the Republic of Korea, Japan, China and the United States. The illustrations are so fantastic and I love the Korean viewpoint of each country. I'm definitely going to have Appah pick up the books for the boys on his next trip to Korea.

[DESIGN] GO! GLOBAL // GUMBOOK

{Gumbook}

One of the things I miss about living in Korea is all the cute stationery shops and bookstores. While we were in Korea over Spring Break I found these GO! GLOBAL posters by Gumbook. They have the sweetest illustrations on the front and back of the posters. I picked up the United States of America and Republic of Korea posters for the boys' playroom as well as a world map. I wish all children's posters were this cute!

[BEAUTY] ESSIE

{Essie}

A few weeks ago I had my first mani/pedi with Joke. Well, I actually had my very first manicure a few months ago in Korea but this was my first time doing the whole fingernail + toenail thing. As nice as it is to come out of the salon with pretty nails and toenails I don't think it is worth it for someone like me who is pretty rough with my nails. My painted nails lasted exactly 24 hours before the first chip appeared. My toenails are still looking good although I was giggling quite a bit when the manicurist was touching my feet [I'm extremely ticklish] so I'm not sure I can go through it again. Nevertheless, I can't seem to resist picking up pretty Essie nail polishes [left to right: Geranium, E-nuf is E-nuf, Cute as a Button]! I'm tempted to create a little rainbow display in my studio!

[FAMILY] SUMMER READING

{Photographs by Sally J Shim}

One of my favorite places to go with the boys is our local library. And somehow summer time visits are the best in my book! I'm always looking for new books for the boys so if you have any recommendations please let me know!
