Entries in 3191 miles apart (1)

I have always dreamed of becoming a knitter (one craft I haven't delved into yet) and would always swoon at the beautiful yarn at the local shops in Portland. When I first heard about Interwoven, the 3191 Miles Apart and Quince & Co. collaborative book, I knew I had to order it. I have a thing for handmade necklaces and love the idea of being able to create beautiful necklaces out of yarn. And since I subscribe to 3191 Miles Apart Quarterly magazine and have always admired the work of Stephanie Congdon Barnes and Maria Alexandra Vettese I was confident that I would love the new book. Interwoven is filled with beautiful images and easy to follow instructions on how to make two different yarn necklaces (with many suggestions for variations). I purchased the book last year and although it looks like it is no longer available on the Quince & Co. site it wouldn't hurt to inquire whether they will be re-stocking the book. The yarn I used for the necklaces are from Quince & Co. with the exception of the neon pink masonry twine that I picked up at Home Depot. The necklaces came together very quickly and they are very comfortable to wear. I can't wait to make more!
