S U R P R I S E !!! I wrote another book! My new book, Be Mine: 25 Paper Projects to Share the Love, is a sweet little book that contains 25 paper craft projects. Over the many years that I have been a designer and crafter, I have always loved to create special love greetings for friends and family. Although Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays to craft for, I believe that we should celebrate love 365 days a year.

Be Mine is a great book for beginner and seasoned crafters, kids and adults. Each of the 25 projects provides step-by-step instructions on how to turn a few simple materials in to a heartfelt keepsake. Many of the projects include printables, that make the crafting process straightforward and simple. These projects are perfect for those who would love to create something handmade for a loved one. They also make for cute and fun Valentine's Day greetings and party/wedding favors.

I am fortunate to have worked with an amazing team at Chronicle Books, including my editors Elizabeth Yarborough and Laura Lee Mattingly and book designer Anne Kenady. And I am thrilled how Max Wanger captured the spirit of the book through his amazing photographs. I also want to give a shout-out to two talented design/craft/lifestyle bloggers, Joy Cho of Oh Joy! and Jordan Ferney of Oh Happy Day, for their support of the book through their endorsements.

Over the next few months I will sharing more details about Be Mine, the book writing process, and some behind the scenes snippets. There will also be some fun giveaways, so make sure you are following me over on Instagram (@sallyjshim).

The book will be officially released on December 22, but you can pre-order now at:

I am thrilled to share with you my dear friend Lisa Solomon's new book KNOT THREAD STITCH: Exploring Creativity through Embroidery and Mixed Media. Lisa is not only an accomplished artist, crafter and art professor but she is one of the most genuine people I know. We met many years ago via our blogs and I've had the pleasure of spending time with her offline (I only wish we knew each other back when I lived in the bay area). Lisa's new book is a wonderful collection of projects created by Lisa and many of her artist & crafter friends, myself included. The project I came up with for the book are some simple coasters which incorporate basic sashiko stitching. There are so many fun projects in the book that I cannot wait to try out and I think if you know how to thread a needle you will love this book, too! If you would like a chance to win a copy of KNOT THREAD STITCH please leave your name in the comments below and I'll pick one lucky winner on Friday, July 20.

UPDATE: Allison (Commenter #4) is the winner!
