[STYLE] ELEVATOR SNAPSHOTS 06

Dresses are my go to outfit during the summer months although I also love a good skirt and top combination. I think the ease of putting on a dress (no time spent on thinking about what to pair it with) makes them my first choice when I'm getting ready in the morning. And dresses are also the perfect thing to wear when trying to beat the summer heat. This summer I made a few goals for myself, one of which is to sew 10 dresses. I am using some trusty old Japanese sewing patterns and also testing out some new patterns. Two down, eight more to go! I plan to share the dresses and my favorite Japanese sewing books in the weeks to come. If you have any favorite dress patterns, please let me know!

[STYLE] ELEVATOR SNAPSHOT 05

Today was a super rainy day (I got soaked during my morning run), but otherwise the weather has been beautiful as of late. When the weather warms up I love wearing clothes made of cool fabrics like linen or linen chambray. As you can see I have several linen chambray dresses and shirts in my wardrobe. Last month I was on the hunt for a spring jacket (I never found one), but this month I am looking for a new pair of wedge sandals in a neutral color. If you have any recommendations, please let me know!

[STYLE] ELEVATOR SNAPSHOTS 04

The weather has been warming up and I've been able to get by with a trench or no jacket at all. I have quite a few winter jackets, but realize I don't have many light jackets. So now I am on the hunt for a versatile lightweight jacket. I love this linen slicker, but sadly it is sold out. I also love this nooy jacket in grey. Let me know if you see any cute jackets out there!

[STYLE] ELEVATOR SNAPSHOTS 02

It definitely feels like autumn here in Busan. I love the cooler temperatures and being able to wear sweaters, scarves and jackets. Although we do have the occasional warm day (note the shorts/sweatshirt combo above) most of the time I can be found wearing a sweater and jeans/pants.

[STYLE] ELEVATOR SNAPSHOTS

How would you describe your clothing style? Recently my friend Chelsea, floral designer + prop stylist extraordinnaire, asked me about my style as part of a Babble feature on stylish moms. Although I don't often think about my style when shopping, I know I am the type that likes what she likes. I am definitely not controlled by the latest trends (I like the idea of studs, but know they are just not for me) and tend to stick to classic pieces that will last me for many seasons. Over the years I've had requests from readers to document my outfits the way I do for the boys but to be honest I think my style is quite simple (maybe too simple). Since moving to Korea I started taking elevator snapshots of myself and after going through them I noticed that my wardrobe consists of solids, stripes, and dots (and big tote bags). I loved reading what the other moms in the feature had to say about how their styles changed after becoming mothers and I would love to hear your thoughts. And even for those without children, how has your style changed over the years?
